JOSH SANTIN 

Title Senior Pastor

Pastor Josh was lucky to be born into a Christian home. His father and grandfather are retired ministers in the Church of the Nazarene. Before accepting Gods call to ministry, Josh served our country in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in Desert Storm he had a life changing experience with God. He remembers a Chaplin giving his platoon Communion before the ground war began. This Chaplin had not slept, eaten well, or worried about himself while administering Communion to the Battalion of over 1000 Marines.

Josh recalls; “All I remember is that this Chaplin was serving God with all his heart, soul, mind and strength.” At that point God put into his heart the desire to serve as a Pastor for the rest of his life.  After his Honorable discharge, Josh began his studies and ministry in 1997 and was Ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in June of 2007. Josh’ favorite saying is “I am nobody; I have nothing to boast about but the radical change that God did in my life.”  (1 Corinthians 1:26-31)

Josh is married to Mary Elizabeth. They met at a super market and have been married for over 24 years. Mary has been on this wild adventure of love they call life together from giving birth to three children, military (Marine) wife, and to being a great and patient partner in ministry.

Josh and Mary have two boys and one daughter, Aaron 24, Brian 22, and their daughter Samm 17.

Josh’ other passions are swimming, biking and running. He has been doing Triathlons since 1997, and in November of 2010 he completed his first Ironman, consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a full Marathon of 26.2 miles in a time of 13 hours and 47 minutes. So if you are ever swimming in the ocean, biking on the weekend or running the beach, you might see him training.

Our Ministry Assistant

Melissa Hopkins is our Ministry Assistant (secretary) and has filled this position for that last four years.  She is a life-long Nazarene with a great heritage.  She has been a member of our Church since 1980 - and loves being here!  She is a wife to David (16yrs) and mother to Meagan(14yr) and Sarah(11yr).  She is also "mom" to several of the youth in our Church.

She is very active with our Youth group as one of their leaders.  She is currently working on getting her Youth Ministries certificate and looks forward to going and working where God leads her and her family.

Her favorite verses: 

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Hola hermanos y amigos les saluda el pastor Vicente Maldonado Sr. Pastor de la obra hispana de la iglesia del nazareno. Los quisiera invitar a gozarnos juntos en el señor. También para decirles que sí Ud. No tiene una iglesia donde congregarse, y anda buscando una iglesia le quiero decir que ya no busque mas Aquí en la iglesia del nazareno de Oxnard lo estamos invitando a que se reúna con nosotros. Lo estaremos esperando y le aseguro que será bien recibido  el honorario de el servicio son los siguientes…
